MAKE THIS KETTLE YOUR KETTLE
The Salvation Army wants the Colorado Springs community to “Make this Kettle Your Kettle” this holiday season. The organization's aim is to recruit 3,000 volunteers to assist in the 2008 Red Kettle fund-raising effort which will begin in November.
“We want organizations, businesses, churches and individuals to make our goal of helping those most in need their goal by committing to volunteer for kettles,” said Mike Smith, director of kettle development. “We will work diligently now through the start of the campaign to get people on board.
Funds raised by the organization go to helping those most in need in El Paso County through programs such as The New Hope Center, Colorado Springs only 24/7 homeless shelter, programs for needy children, and transitional housing programs for families effected by addiction and abuse.
The organization is available to make presentations or meet with any local organization or individuals who are interested in learning more. For information, contact Mike Smith at 884-1042 or e-mail here. |
